Winterfylleth – The Imperious Horizon

A soul that eats upon the flesh of art may yearn to ascend to the peaks of its summit, to crawl, climb, be beaten by it’s elements, to let the hymns which reverberates from it’s notes seep into the very scars that are made and once the climax is discovered, all which breeds chaos and that which births peace coalesce into a unified body, wherein the beauty of strife can be witnessed through the speech spoken forth from the art that bleeds honesty.

“The Imperious Horizon” by Winterfylleth attests to the wonders of art, which spirals from its core a tale of serenity spoken with a tongue of chaos. Still, it is betwixt these contrasting auras where the jewel of this album is found. For the very harsh nature manifested through this album can be looked upon as chisel which chips away at the scabs of a soul, but what pulsates from the wounds is that which is not rank in candor, but instead, it is an essence that wishes to be free, to coexist and merge with the magick emitted from this work of art.

Tracks such as “Like Brimming Fire” and “Upon this Shore” carry an ethereal spirit to it’s vehement motion, and in my opinion, these two tracks are examples where the melodies evoke a transcendental quality which accentuates the atmosphere of the album. The instrumental construct coupled with the vocals manifest a dense and palpable sensation that is magnified through the overall spirit channeled through the dissonance harnessed, and in my opinion, the converging of these elements into a cohesive renders onto the listener the most crucial aspect, that is, a cathartic journey etched in the these primordial notes.

The magick which is invoked through Winterfylleth’s “The Imperious Horizon “ can be looked upon as the soil onto which the mind is lowered and covered, for entombed in its aura, total repose is achieved through the fusion of the enthralling melodies that interweave into the tendons of one’s very being.
