Nightfall – Children of Eve

The act of chronicling a soul’s descent into the realm wherein light is stricken from its presence can be a most potent experience for a mind to experience, for within its plummet, the consciousness is ushered into a sensation that feels ineffable but ever changing, for the shackles of human emotions become null and all that exists is a primordial energy that copulates with the spirit. To take such a journey and extract its aura , to transfigure it into a litany of sound for the spirit to eat upon.

Nightfall

“Children of Eve” by Nightfall is an album draped in the obsidian atrament of Black Metal, wherein its roots drink upon its energy, and from this, a jewel is bred from the spirit baptized in the ink of night. The very crux of this album comes forth in its honest atmosphere, crafting a tangible sensation for the senses to relish, for the shapes in which the instrumental elements undergo amplified by the production which bestows onto the album another layer of atmosphere. However, it is the vocals which form the zenith of this album, for the vitriol contained within each verse comes forth like venomous spit that burns the pious, tracks, such as “Inside my Head” and “For the Expelled Ones” are testament to the titan-esque feeling for which the voice commands, coupled with the frenetic percussion and strings which flow to its motion of vehemence.

Alister Crowley once said that he becomes the snake that giveth Knowledge & Delight and bright glory, and stir the hearts of men with drunkenness. However, the same serpentine essence that touches the lips of man to reveal such evocations is also found within the works of Nightfall, for its resonance becomes the venom that removes the scales from one’s vision transcending the mind into a world where art becomes the doctrine.
