Nazghor – A World Ablaze

Record Label: Solistitium Records

Year: 2026

Rating: 9/10

Sweden’s Nazghor – visionaries of total world freedom from the shackles of religious oppression. Their 2022 opus, “Seventh Secular Crusade”, quietly made a profound impression upon those who have been fortunate enough to have experienced it. Not a groundbreaking LP, just a prime specimen of true Swedish Melodic Black Metal. Torches made of flesh! And battlefields strewn with bloody heaps of Christianity. No mercy for sheep, no quarter and no more hope for their faded cause. Now, the entryway to the Sverige path to true BM has been uncovered once more as Nazghor prepare their eighth full-length studio album, “A World Ablaze”, for a February 20 release via “Solistitium Records“.

Nazghor has paid their dues. They’ve released a Black Metal career’s worth of LPs since their inception: some fair, some good and some great. Their talents are of a masterclass, but what Nazghor possesses that so many do not is something so simple yet so elusive and that is a natural sense of melody. You can tell when it’s forced and you can tell when an Artist or a group of Artists just feel the music. The result is goosebumps-inducing tracks like “Primordial Lineage” off of “SSC” or “Day of Sepulchral” off of the new record that tantalize your every sweet spot. Unpredictable yet segmented compositionally with smooth changes in tempo. Keeping you on seat’s edge, all the while as you eagerly anticipate the next gripping passage.

Nazghor

There’s a much more sinister vibe to this album… It’s definitely heavier and crafted with malicious intent whereas Nazghor’s previous LP is strictly a melodic affair. Following in stride with “Within Crimson Kingdom”: illuminating atmospheric elements, rolling melodic passages and gargantuan rhythms. And it’s with the aggression of a hundred battles that “The Infallible God” plays out. Surging riffs give way to soaring melodies and pounding double-bass currents. Percussion like ten jackhammers jacking your fucking brains out in the most awesome way imaginable. A glutton for punishment am I and with no shame in my game. This is why I do it! To bring this beautifully dark and majestic music to you and to those who probably don’t deserve it, but nonetheless! Here we are, here you are… Dig it.

True Swedish BM seldom sounds this sweet. This is the epoch of Religious downfall! Soundtracked by Black Metal of the epic variety: bold, imposing and yet sweet as honey. The best part about “A World Ablaze” is that once you’ve listened to it, you get to go back to “Seventh Secular Crusade” and discover what a magnificent album it is as well if you’ve yet to hear it. Are you ready to call Nazghor one of your most trusted sources?

Freedom awaits! The grande relinquishing of our souls over to the truth in this new Dark Age. And for those of us on the fringes who choose to separate ourselves from this sick world, we take in albums like “A World Ablaze” with the utmost satisfaction. A warm Satanic vibe, His infernal energy radiates throughout every second of runtime; a not so gentle but a none-too-pressing sense of blissful enthrallment to experience. We the cursed ones! The Devil’s kin can come on out now, for the time is nigh for a brighter day. An aeon of enlightenment and understanding to lighten up the darkness! Nazghor has done it. With “A World Ablaze”, Nazghor has managed to successfully reach an impossibly high standard that they themselves established four years ago. And so long as they thrive, so too can the idea of liberation. To the Sverige way! Here’s to true Swedish Melodic Black Metal. Hail!
