After watching many bands of different genres in Baroeg Open Air, it was time for Triumph Of Death, which is a project by Tom Gabriel Warrior honouring the legacy of Hellhammer. I was very eager to live this moment, as I grew up with Warrior’s music creations, so grabbing a festival ticket was a necessity.

The band entered the stage, and the crowd was overexcited for this moment, which made Tom smile. Listening to the first notes of Third Of The Storms (Evoked Damnation) made everyone lose their minds. Mosh pits and crowd surfing were part of every song, filling the heads of every metalhead with raw metal. Massacra, Maniac, Blood Insanity followed, with Tom making a small break for introducing us to the members of the band that had the honour of performing this music, who I can say, performed amiably.

Cult classics continued hammering the stage, like Chainsaw and Reaper, with crowd surfing being out of control and while everyone screaming out of their lungs. My personal highlight was Messiah, which led to the biggest moshpit of the day, with Tom enjoying every moment. Then the band closed the concert with Visions of Mortality and Triumph of Death, and exited the stage before thanking the crowd for honouring this metal legacy.

After the concert, everyone around me was delighted with that performance. At the end of the festival, we all agreed that they were the best band on the bill. Until next time, blast some Hellhammer and raise your horns!
