Noesis is an Italian Blackgaze Ambient Black Metal band and this is their second EP, after one back in 2016. Comparing these two works, I can say that the most recent is a lot of better, as it seems that the band has worked better on the musical approach.

Their music draws inspiration from Lustre, Summoning and Spectral Lore. I must admit that I’m not into this kind of BM, so it’s not my cup of tea. The guitar sound is fuzzy and there are a lot of melodies throughout the songs. Compositions are mainly driven by the use of keyboards and this adds more melody to the final result.

There are a few potentials, for example there is a fine guitar solo on the 1st song or the use of violin on the 2nd, but they should heighten up the guitar sound and strengthen the rhythm section and avoid or improve the combination of BM/clean vocals on the last track.

The small duration of this EP doesn’t help me on making more concrete conclusions here, but I really hope for something better in the future.
