Evilfeast – Elegies Of The Stellar Wind

Record Label: Eisenwald Tonschmiede

Year: 2017

Rating: 7.5/10

I think that my first contact with Evilfeast was back in 2008 and their “Lost Horizons Of Wisdom” album. It really got me! The same happened also with the follow up, “Wintermoon Enchantment“. Black Metal, with keyboards, in the majestic way that Emperor first taught! After almost 6 years of silence, Grimspirit comes back with his new work!

The production is similar to “Wintermoon Enchantment“, everything sounds very clear and solid. Songs are lengthy as usual, with keyboards adding to the whole atmosphere. Speeds vary from slow to faster tempo, everything goes according to the previous albums plan. Well, that’s the only bad thing about this album. To be honest, this and that the opening song are the most mediocre of the album.

If this is your first approach with Evilfeast’s works, then you’ll find this album great! But having heard “Horizons…” and “Wintermoon…“, I found this new work one step below. Not bad at all, but not at the same level.
